Many people know this part of Germany as the Black Forest area. The background is the "Riettor" which is a part of the mostly still existing city wall, the oldest city tower, built in 13th century.

World Wide Rave at Social Media Breakfast Minneapolis

I had a blast spending a morning with the enthusiastic members of the Social Media Breakfast in Minneapolis. Thanks to Graeme Thickens who was the ring leader who organized getting me there.

The only disappointment was they did not serve chipotle breakfast burritos.

OK, I'll admit that I have no clue what any of this means, so I'll just write it here.

This is the World Wide Rave poster taken with the Intertial Electrostatic Confinement Device in the University of Wisconsin-Madison Engineering Physics department's Fusion Technology Institute. Learn more about this fascinating equipment here.

The photo was taken by Kyle Matthew Oliver who is a research assistant in the UW-Madison Engineering Physics Department's Computational Nuclear Engineering Research Group. As the the star of Wine Library TV, Gary Vaynerchuk created a World Wide Rave.

With his unconventional, often irreverent commentary on wine, Gary has attracted a cult-like following of more than 80,000 viewers a day. In the name of "expanding one's palate", Gary convinced Conan O'Brien to lick salted rocks and shared samples of dirt and grass with Ellen Degeneres.

Gary's movement seeks to break down the barriers, stereotypes, and misperceptions that otherwise prevent people from exploring and enjoying the exciting and rewarding world of wine.

World Wide Rave in Melbourne, Australia

Mark Gladding, Founder of Tumbywood Software shot this photo in Melbourne, Australia. The building in the background is Flinders St Station, arguably Melbourne’s most iconic building. Melbourne is one of the cool cities of the world that still use trams as a means of public transport.

It's been a while since I've been to Melbourne, but I recall that after a few VBs (Victoria Bitters) my outlook on life would be delightfully skewed, just like this great photo.

A World Wide Rave at Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, Ireland

My friend Krishna De, snapped this wonderful photo at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. Krishna is a fascinating person. Besides being an expert on personal branding, she was the first female and youngest person on the board of Guinness Ireland and was one of the team involved with the development and opening of the Storehouse back in Nov 2000. Guinness is much talked about and the Storehouse is the visitor centre – over a million visitors were there in 2007.  Mmm... I want a frosty Guinness right now.

No, this photo is not blurry, it looks funny because my friend Chris Brogan is always on the move. He's created a World Wide Rave of fans, with a top 100 blog in the world (Technorati ranks Chris Brogan's blog number 76). As of this writing, Chris has over 21,000 followers on Twitter.

Chris explores the use of social media and social networking tools, as well as helping individuals work smarter. Because he is a smart and witty writer who adds tremendous value, he has many fans (including me).
